Take a deeper dive into GovHub, including why and how certain content types can be used on your site.

New Web Application Firewall Adds Another Layer of Protection

We’ve just added a layer of protection from outages called a Web Application Firewall (WAF). It’s an additional set of tools that our engineering team uses to monitor and block unwanted traffic.

“Click Here” Doesn’t Click With Users

Relying on “Click here” for link text is bad for your users, accessibility, and SEO. So what should you do? Create descriptive links that tell all your users (and search engines) what they offer.

Promos

A Promo is a type of micro-content; it can’t exist on its own, but you embed it as a block onto other pages. Put simply, it’s a way to briefly introduce specific content and guide users down the right path. We’ve talked in the past about ways of grouping links — in Link Collections, Icon Lists, and Tilesets — but sometimes you need just a single item to stand apart from the rest.

Contacts: Content Type and Teaser

Contacts are a key piece of structured content. Did an office change titles or get a new phone number? Update the information in one place, and see that reflected all throughout your website.

What Can You Do With Webforms?

Scrap the third-party solutions and learn how GovHub's Webforms, powered by Drupal 8, can meet your needs when collecting visitor information.

Icon Lists

Basically, an Icon List is made up of links, each with its own icon. Icon Links can link to both external and internal pages. You can give the list a title, description, and “more” link. It can be displayed with or without a card, on a Landing Page.

Link Collections

Link Collection is our most commonly used block type, and they are on nearly every GovHub site. Do you have a bunch of related stuff that you need to link to? Well then do I have the block for you…

Tiles

For the past couple years, we’ve used Tiles as a way to visually feature multiple pieces of highly important content. So far in Drupal 8, you’d only been able make Tiles with the Image and Image with Text layouts. Now we’ve added a third type of Tile to GovHub sites: Icons. Think of it as Icon List’s bolder, stronger cousin.
